Development Director

This full time position is to implement the center’s financial, development, fundraising programs and activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement annual and capital campaigns that meet the center’s current and future financial requirements
  • Direct and manage all planned giving and other internal, community and special event fund-raising activities
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit gifts to the center from all constituencies.
  • Serve as the center’s contact for donors, key community organizations and media relations
  • Coordinate and maintain all grant and contribution documentation, and record and report gifts, and implement acknowledgment to donors.
  • Manage and oversee all development support activities, including managing and maintaining the donor list, preparing correspondence and reports, and keeping calendars for all development activities
  • Oversee the production of all marketing and public relations brochures, booklets and other collateral materials for the center.
  • Speak publically on behalf of the center
  • Assist with development of the newsletter content
  • Attend and act as staff to the Development Committee of the Board

Qualifications:

  • BA degree in business or related field and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a non-profit environment
  • Effective communication with all the constituencies of HPE
  • Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively
  • Manage all aspects of the development program
  • Basic knowledge of business principles, procedures and practices
  • Working knowledge and skill in business and development software, including word processing, spreadsheet and data base tracking systems

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Generally works in standard office conditions and climate
  • May work at desk and computer for extended periods of time
  • May work in varied extreme outside weather conditions during special activities and fundraising events
  • Works in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.

Non-Profit Business Manager

This part time position oversees financial processes and works with the facilities manager and IT consultant to coordinate facility and technology needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and analyze financial operations – including working with program and department managers to develop, approve, and monitor workable budgets
  • Maintain all financial records, banking relationships, audit responsibilities, and works with Development Director to assure that any generated revenue is accounted-for and used according to legal guidelines governing the organization
  • Monitor insurance and benefits’ coverage
  • Manages income and expense items
  • Oversee facilities’ planning, maintenance, and custodial operations – monitors contractual and legal agreements and capital projects
  • Oversee IT Consultant – coordination and communication and tracking technology needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in business, finance, management or related field)
  • Accounting Skills
  • Computer Skills, including knowledge of Quick Books for Non-Profits, and some working knowledge of Sales Force
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
