Hope Partnership for Education

How You Can Help

Hope Partnership for Education is engaged in "Building Hope," a $6 million capital campaign to build its own education center at 8th and Berks Streets in North Philadelphia. The links to the right indicate the floor plans for the new building. The link below indicates how you can help make our dream a reality.

Click the drop down menu under How We Can Help for our Named Gift Opportunities page to see which rooms, spaces or programs you can name with a major gift to the "Building Hope" capital campaign. Pledges are payable over three to five years.

In addition to running a Capital Campaign, Hope Partnership depends heavily on charitable contributions to fund its annual operating expenses. Gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations provide over 95% of its yearly operating budget.

Here are several ways to support Hope Partnership:

Cash Gifts

Gifts can be made by cash, check, or credit card.

Pledges

A pledge payable over several years allows the donor to make a larger gift. Donors may choose a payment schedule that fits their needs.

Appreciated Securities

A gift of appreciated securities allows the donor to avoid capital gains tax.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Hundreds of corporations offer matching gift programs to encourage charitable giving among current and former employees. Some companies match employee gifts on a one-to-one basis; others may match gifts as much as three-to-one. The Human Resources Office of each company outlines the requirements and provides the simple form needed to generate this important source of support.

Honorary or Memorial Gifts

A gift can be made to honor a family member, friend, teacher or colleague on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary, graduation or retirement. It is also an especially meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one.

PayPal

You can also use PayPal on this site right now to make contributions.  Click the link below and follow the instructions.

Hope Partnership for Education

In addition to soliciting general operating funds, Hope Partnership for Education provides the following special charitable giving programs in which donors may participate.

Monthly Giving

You can now make a monthly commitment to Hope Partnership for Education through our new program - the Rays of Hope Club.  Choose to contribute $25, $50 or any gift of personal significance.  Monthly giving provides a constant, reliable source of funding, allowing us to budget based on stable and secure commitments.  You can either mail your tax-deductible contribution or call with your credit card number and it will automatically be processed each month.

Student Sponsorship Program

The annual cost to educate each student at Hope Partnership for Education is $10,000. However, the families which Hope Partnership serves can afford to pay only $10-$100 per month.  The Student Sponsorship Program was initiated to supplement the cost of our students' educational programming.  It covers the daily academic curriculum, the after-school component and any field trips and extra curricular activities including the Summer Session and a "sleep-away" camp experience.

Life Insurance

Donors may receive a tax deduction by naming Hope Partnership as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

Bequests

Donors may designate Hope Partnership as a beneficiary in their will, in their IRA, or in other parts of their estate.

Corporate Giving through the PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania offers the EITC, or Educational Improvement Tax Credit, to those companies which make gifts to scholarship organizations in lieu of taxes.

If your corporation is authorized to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and pays the following taxes, it can take advantage of the EITC. : Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, Title Insurance Company Shares Tax, Insurance Premiums Tax, or Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax.
