AmeriHealth Caritas Volunteers Clean Up

Volunteers from AmeriHealth Caritas, based in Philadelphia, recently volunteered to clean up outdoor areas surrounding Hope Partnership for Education.

AmeriHealth Caritas is a national leader in managed care services, serving 17 states and the District of Columbia. The organization provides managed care solutions for populations most in need. These include Medicaid, Medicare, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) members. AmeriHealth Caritas also provides pharmacy benefits management, specialty pharmacy services, and behavioral health solutions through PerformRx LLC, the company’s fully owned, full-service pharmacy benefits manager.

An enthusiastic group of PerformRx volunteers from Care Crew, AmeriHealth Caritas’ associate volunteer program, removed trash, dirt, and debris from the back of the school and took time to clean a vacant lot.

John C. Butts, Director, Marketing and Public Relations at PerformRx, helped lead volunteer efforts of painting, landscaping, and cleaning at Hope Partnership for Education.

“Our associates are committed to living the mission of AmeriHealth Caritas, where care is the heart of our work. Partnering with organizations like HOPE Partnership for Education is key to ensure we are bringing our mission in the communities where we live, work and pray,” Butts said.

The Care Crew was also joined by Andrew Maiorini and Patrick Gallagher, both Vice Presidents with PerformRx, who believe the best way to lead is by example.

Care Crew volunteers are a shining example of the power of corporate citizenship. They show how AmeriHealth Caritas volunteers take the networking, teambuilding, and leadership skills they develop and use them to make Philadelphia a better place to work, live, and play.

What started as a typical summer Wednesday in Philadelphia quickly became a very special day thanks to the commitment of Care Crew volunteers.

“We are so grateful to the Care Crew volunteers who came out,” said Sister Rose Martin, Executive Director, Hope Partnership for Education. “Without their support the completion of this project would not have been possible.”
